The Ohio State University (OSU) is conducting a nationwide search for faculty at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor to start in the 2026–2027 academic year. The center seeks to hire tenure-track and tenured faculty in disciplines related to civic thought and leadership to contribute to its mission and potential tenure outcomes. Responsibilities

Engage in research, teaching, and service aligned with the Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society. Develop and teach courses that advance the Center’s mission and contribute to its three planned majors: Civics, Law & Leadership; Great Books; and Classical Education. Publish high-quality scholarship in reputable outlets and contribute to the academic community and civic life. Be actively involved in Center and University intellectual life, mentoring students, and serving the broader community. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication, professionalism, civility, and good judgment. Qualifications

Hold, or be on track to complete before starting the position, a Ph.D., J.D., or other terminal degree in a field related to the Center’s mission. Evidence of a record or potential for high-quality scholarship, impactful publications, and effective teaching that advances the Center’s mission. Ability to develop and teach courses aligned with the Center’s mission and establish a scholarly reputation relevant to civic thought and leadership. Willingness to engage in the Center’s and Ohio State’s intellectual life and contribute to its mission. Application Materials
