We are currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager for our Kilgore and Longview TX plants.

Summary:

The EH&S Manager will primarily be responsible for continually improving safety by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety behaviors while ensuring compliance of all safety procedures. The ideal candidate will create and implement organizational safety guidelines, promote a culture of safety in the workplace, and perform regular site inspections to check compliance.

Responsibilities

Develop, Lead, and Execute strategies to drive the site-wide safety culture towards minimizing safety risk and achieving an injury free operation.

Partner closely with the Director of EH&S and execute initiatives provided by the Corporate organization.

Implement and drive continuous improvement activities and best practices.

Administer and oversee the environmental aspect of the facility and the safety programs within the facility.

Champion employee empowerment to identify and address safety concerns, and generate new ideas related to safety and health.

Promote and participate in employee involvement programs such as project teams, committees, and internal training.

Actively participate in incident investigations and resulting recommendations for improvement, including tracking metrics, preparing and filing safety incident reports, and applying findings.

Carry out safety risk assessments prior to starting a new process, including safe installation of equipment through internal and external resources.

Maintain compliant safety and environmental records including air, wastewater, storm water, and hazardous waste permits.

Lead plant incident and non-conformance investigations and ensure closure of corrective actions.

Develop, create, and deliver safety training to employees as required.

Participate in defining safety training requirements for employees to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, insurance, and internal safety requirements.

Maintain and update SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment, and use them in day-to-day training, including meeting industry safety standards.

Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies/resources to maximize the effectiveness of the safety improvement process.

Partner with HR in managing workers' compensation programs by providing EHS expertise, assisting with claims administration, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing injury prevention strategies.

Maintain and increase professional knowledge related to environmental protection, occupational health, and industrial safety, staying current with regulations.

Participate in continuous improvement efforts at the plant and for the EH&S function.

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or Industrial Engineering preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the EH&S field, preferably in manufacturing or metal fabrication.

Mix of education and experience considered.

Proficient PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Demonstrated organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to prioritize.

Experience designing and implementing effective safety programs aligned with company EH&S strategy.

CPR/AED and first aid certification (or ability to obtain).

Experience in risk assessment, risk mitigation, operations management, incident investigation, root cause analysis, and quality control.

In-depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Excellent communication skills; strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities.

Analytical and research skills; knowledge of relevant software packages.

Proficient in ISO 45001 and 14001 Environmental and Safety Management Systems.

Skilled in risk assessment and hazard analysis.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
