Overview
The Cardiovascular Division at the University of Minnesota has a regional and national reputation. The goal of this recruitment is to support the current practice needs and growth as well as the expertise of adult congenital cardiology clinical care, teaching, and research. The division is now recruiting a cardiologist to expand this mission as a member of the adult congenital cardiology program. The candidate will work closely with the leadership of the adult and pediatric cardiovascular divisions, the cardiology service line, and the Lillihei Heart Institute to expand the University's adult congenital clinical and academic missions. Clinical efforts will include but are not limited to University of Physician clinics, hospital service, outreach clinics, and pediatric/ACHD echocardiography.
Responsibilities Contribute to the clinical, teaching, and research missions of the adult congenital cardiology program. Collaborate with division leadership across adult and pediatric cardiology and related institutes to develop and expand clinical services and educational programs, including echocardiography for ACHD patients.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated high-level qualifications in education, research, and clinical care. Internal Medicine or Pediatrics board certified or board eligible status, Adult or Pediatric Cardiology Board certified or board eligible, and a Minnesota medical license is required. Board certified or board eligible in Adult Congenital Cardiology. Required areas of expertise and advanced training and expertise in patient care management of adult congenital cardiology. Proven knowledge and success in clinical research skills. Candidates should have experience in supporting medicine post-graduate fellowship training. Candidates should be recognized for the provision of clinical excellence, a publication track record of successful research, and experience and knowledge in grant submissions for external funding. Applicants must have the ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.
Pay and Benefits Pay Range:
This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
