Data Governance Engineer

– On site in Wilmington, NC. This contract role offers a pay range of $60.00-$90.00 per hour (W2). This contract does not include benefits. Practical implementation of data governance policies. Serve as a subject matter expert to assist with managing and maintaining data, enforcing data quality, resolving data-related issues, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Act as the primary conduit between business, information management, information technology, and engineering organizations. Help define data, create data dictionaries, and ensure the organization\'s metadata is well-maintained. Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures. Facilitate metadata discovery and data cataloging efforts. Build technical data dictionaries and support business glossaries to analyze datasets. Perform data profiling and data analysis for source systems, manually maintained data, machine-generated data, and target data repositories. Develop and maintain data mapping specifications based on data analysis and functional requirements. Perform data loads and data transformations using multiple tools and technologies. Analyze reference datasets and familiarize with Master Data Management (MDM) tools. Analyze the impact of downstream systems and products; derive solutions and recommendations from deep-dive data analysis. Design and build Data Quality (DQ) rules as needed. Qualifications

Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or Library Science or a STEM major; minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Experience with data management tools such as data catalogs, metadata management tools, and databases. Certification in data management or related areas (e.g., DMP, DM-BOK). Exposure to data catalog, automated data discovery, and data lineage tools (e.g., Informatica, Alation, Collibra, TAMR). Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERWin, ER Studio). Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica or Talend). Hands-on SQL experience for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or HiveQL. Desired skills

Experience with Engineering, Procure and Construct companies and familiarity with CFIHOS. Experience with multiple data domains and ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams. Strong teamwork, presentation, and influencing skills. Seniority level
