Youth Development Counselors
to work in our Residential Programs. In this role, you will take a caring, personal approach to meeting youth’s basic needs while providing physical and emotional safety. Job Title:

Residential Life Supervisor; Barbara Blum Close to Home Non-Secure Placement Location:
480 Vermont Avenue, Brooklyn NY, 11207 Hours:
40 hours, Non-Exempt. Position requires staff to be onsite. Must be available for Day, Evening, and/or Overnight Shift. Some weekends will be required. Salary Range:
$20-$22 per hour Major Duties:
Provide direct supervision and be accountable for the whereabouts of residents at all times. Manage residents' behavior; maintain order. Implement daily living routines, schedules, and procedures. Ensure the safety of residents and maintain security and cleanliness throughout the residence. Provide individual and group counseling for residents, work with families, and participate in youth and family development. Coordinate court-ordered visits (visits suspended during quarantine). Maintain records, logs, reports, and adhere to documentation requirements. Participate in planning and executing educational, recreational, and personal enrichment activities. Ensure proper care and supervision of supplies and equipment. Participate in meetings, conferences, and training programs. Communicate with staff regarding residents' needs and program matters. Provide safe transportation for court-ordered appointments (not during quarantine). Attend all mandatory training required by DYFJ and GSS. Adhere to all DYFJ and OCFS regulations. Practice the Sanctuary Model tools to create a non-violent, trauma-sensitive culture. Promote and model the Sanctuary Model commitments. Integrate the SELF framework into daily practice for quality care and a positive work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. Ability to complete and pass physical intervention training. Must pass a pre-hire physical ability test. Ability to perform physical restraint of youth using approved procedures. Capable of sustained physical exertion, including standing, twisting, turning, kneeling, and supporting a participant’s weight. Commitment to youth development and trauma-informed approaches. Additional Qualifications:
Must complete state-mandated crisis intervention training within two months of hire. Ability to perform physical restraint activities.
