Populous is seeking an Architectural Visualization Artist to work in Unreal Engine, providing real-time architectural models and interactive virtual environments. You will join our Global Digital Team and collaborate using Perforce Helix Core with project teams. Our preferred candidate has experience in the AEC industry and is excited to work in a dynamic global design environment with a diverse range of public assembly building types including sports venues, convention centers, community buildings, and transportation facilities. What Your Day Could Consist Of
Translate/import architectural models into Unreal Engine using Populous’ in-house procedures and protocols. Communicate with the Digital team and architects to troubleshoot, amend, and improve relevant components and data. Produce high-quality assets – hard surface 3D models and materials/textures in line with our global library standards. Produce quick animations and stills from the viewport as well as rendering high-quality animations using the Unreal Engine sequencer. Export real-time models as executable files. Requirements For Success
Comprehensive knowledge of fundamentals of 3D modeling, texturing and lighting. Skilled in creating photo-realistic visualizations of architectural models and environments using traditional arch-viz workflows. Post-processing ability in Photoshop and After Effects is essential; post-processing ability in systems like Nuke / Davinci is preferred. Basic ability to understand architectural plans, elevations and general documentation. Skilled in 3D modeling hard surface items from reference images with clean, efficient topology. Creative and resourceful, able to manipulate and create textures with various software. Detail-oriented, quick learner and adaptable to new responsibilities. Highly self-motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Outstanding communication and teamwork skills for collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Awareness of emerging technologies such as AR/VR and their applications for architectural presentations is preferred. Essential Qualifications
Experience with Unreal Engine fundamentals. 2+ years in an architectural visualization studio or department. Degree in visual communication, 3D animation and/or game development is highly regarded. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Forest Pack & RailClone in 3ds Max. Familiarity with Blueprint scripting, procedural content generation, or programming in Python or C++. Material creation using Substance Painter, Sampler, and Designer. Additional Details
