Representative Duties BASIC FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this position is a part-time temporary instructional faculty assignment. The role is suited for a motivated candidate passionate about engaging with a diverse student body and fostering academic growth. Promoting diversity and inclusion is fundamental in this role, offering a chance to make a lasting impact on our academic community.
Responsibilities include:
Providing instruction according to approved curriculum, course outlines, and college needs.
Conducting classes, preparing lessons, evaluating students, and assessing learning outcomes based on class availability, seniority, and qualifications.
Maintaining and submitting accurate records such as grades, syllabi, and attendance reports.
Upholding professional conduct and ethics.
Advising students academically.
Maintaining competency in the field.
Minimum Qualifications An applicant must have education and experience equivalent to the following:
Master's in religious studies, theology, or philosophy
OR Bachelor's in any of these fields plus a Master's in humanities or the equivalent
Additionally, candidates should demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a). Transcripts and a detailed work experience description are required to verify equivalency.
