Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and helps develop a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service experiences through professional conduct and shared passion for gaming. This position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; provide correct change, receipts, and maintain top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards loyalty). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback; ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in HR systems in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; understand policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates, manage breaks/meals, and supervise staffing to maintain high levels of guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are operational. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily; support inventory control and loss prevention practices. Protect company assets and communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform required administrative duties. Conduct store inventory counts and restock; manage stock movement from stock room to sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily POS totals; handle bank deposits following guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Assist in maintaining store records; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to sales staff in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all store policies and procedures; follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized guest assistance during every visit. Strong verbal and written communication; English required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Work independently and as part of a team; manage time effectively. Meet performance expectations including attendance and safety; maintain a respectful workplace. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow written or verbal instructions. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Remain reliable, trustworthy, and capable of handling pressure; problem solver. Ability to work alone or move around the store; physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform related activities. Knowledge of military ranks and insignia (where applicable for stores on military bases). Pay:
