This position is responsible for assisting in the management of accounting functions. Such functions include playing an active role in monthly financial closes and reporting, providing assistance to the team to ensure the maintenance of accurate books and records, and participating in projects as necessary. Job Responsibilities
Assists in providing Accounting leadership and direction while coaching staff on items such as journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensures accurate and proper recording of financial transactions, and prepares recommendations relative to assets, accruals, and expenditures. Ensures accounting team\'s commitment to timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP, HDFS policies and procedures, Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls. Reviews monthly journal entries, monthly accounting reconciliations; performs general ledger maintenance, and assists financial analysts as needed in the preparation and analysis of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Measures accomplishments to pre-established goals. Participates in the coordination, creation and continuous improvement of processes. Performs other duties as assigned, such as participating in and leading aspects of projects. Assists in reviewing financial statement footnotes for SEC & standalone financial reporting. Protection of information and compliance with the law are paramount.
