Position Overview: We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Revenue Analyst with over 4 years of revenue experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ASC 606 revenue recognition, contract review, financial analysis, and data management, with a proven ability to analyze complex data sets and communicate insights effectively. This role will require collaboration with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, sales, and operations, to drive accurate financial statements. Key Responsibilities: Manage month-end and year-end close activities related to revenue: This includes preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and deferred revenue schedules, along with analyzing revenue trends and performance. Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards: This involves a deep understanding and application of ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) and ASC 944 (Financial Services – Insurance), as well as adherence to GAAP and IFRS. Review and analyze complex sales agreements and contracts: This involves evaluating the revenue implications of proposed contracts and ensuring they comply with company policy and revenue recognition standards. Collaborate with other departments: This includes working closely with sales, legal, and finance teams to ensure accuracy and resolve revenue-related issues. Assist with external audits: This involves preparing audit schedules and responding to inquiries from external auditors regarding revenue recognition practices. Identify and implement process improvements: This includes developing and maintaining desktop procedures for revenue accounting activities and exploring automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Provide guidance to junior staff: Revenue Accountants may also supervise and train junior accounting personnel. Generate and analyze various reports: This includes monthly financial reports detailing sales, passenger revenues, accounts receivables, deferred revenues, and other related accounts. Participate in special projects: This may involve system implementations, enhancements, or ad-hoc analysis as needed. Own manual billing processes resulting from client-specific requirements, quantity-based billing requirements, and complex billing structures. Completely and accurately map client accounts, billing groups, and fees for timely monthly invoicing processes. Analyze billing data, understand system limitations, and generate thoughtful reporting and updates for distribution to management and stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus. 7+ years of experience in revenue, billing, financial analysis, or a related field, preferably within the financial services or technology industry with at least 4 years specifically in Revenue Accounting. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles: This includes a deep understanding ASC 606. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating strong independent working capabilities. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven track record of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong technical skills: This includes proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or SAP, familiarity with specialized revenue recognition software, and advanced Excel skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills: This includes the ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve complex issues related to revenue recognition.
