Senior Intercompany Accountant
with a $1+ billion transportation and logistics company. The
Senior Intercompany Accountant
will have a variety of responsibilities including review and analysis of revenue and cost of sales in the consolidated financial statements along with accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP); analysis of the impact of FX exchange; reconciliation of intercompany balances; and collaboration with Operations to establish operational policies and document reconciliation processes for intercompany. Responsibilities
Collect shipment in transit reports from international subsidiaries and analyze the format of the report along with accuracy of the transactional data Analytical review of global intercompany balances of revenue and cost of sales, accounts receivable and accounts payable data Communicate with subsidiaries to ensure resolution of reporting or operational issues are addressed to ensure accurate and consistent global reporting Analyze intercompany transactions and reconciliations and resolve any differences Validate transactional reporting by tracking selections from origin to destination to ensure accuracy in revenue recognition Document reconciliation processes to streamline reconciliation for future reporting periods Prepare audit journal entries to eliminate intercompany transactions for consolidated financials Work with subsidiaries on reporting into Intercompany Reconciliation Application (ICOR) and utilize system for transactional matching Work closely with IT department to ensure necessary updates to ICOR Application and shipment in transit reporting Assist in developing and documenting accounting policies and procedures Special projects and analysis as assigned Qualifications
4-6 years of experience in Accounting in a multi-national company Understanding of Foreign Currency Translations Strong Excel skills required Excellent organizational skills, process driven, good problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, good decision making, and strong analytical skills Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently Bilingual is a plus Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting Experience in intercompany reconciliations and working knowledge of US GAAP Financial systems such as Cognos Controller (or similar group consolidation system) and JD Edwards preferred Details
