The Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the Credit Union’s financial strategy and operational excellence. This position partners closely with the Senior Manager of Finance to lead core financial reporting functions, including budgeting, profitability analysis, cash flow forecasting, and product performance evaluation.
The analyst contributes to board-level reporting and provides actionable insights that drive informed decision-making across departments. This role demands a high level of analytical rigor, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements, profitability reports, credit risk analyses, and cash flow forecasts
Maintain and update the CECL reserve model with monthly calculations.
Assist in preparing board and committee reports, including the Finance Board Packet, ALCO, Pricing Committee, and Finance Committee.
Collaborate on annual budget development and periodic reforecasts.
Quality Assurance
Review monthly and quarterly reports for accuracy prior to distribution.
Present financial analyses with clarity and precision, ensuring leaders understand methodologies and outcomes.
Recommend pricing and product strategies to senior leadership.
Teamwork & Cooperation
Build strong relationships with department leaders to support financial literacy and budget ownership.
Provide ad-hoc analyses to inform operational decisions and enhance business processes.
Productivity & Innovation
Support the implementation of new financial models and platforms.
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve reporting efficiency.
Document procedures to ensure continuity and consistency.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (required).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Finance, with extensive experience in financial reporting and complex modeling.
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial platforms and modeling tools.
Demonstrated expertise in financial forecasting and modeling within the financial services industry (Credit Union experience preferred).
Ability to build and interpret financial analyses related to budgets, operations, and strategic planning.
Skilled in assessing lending and deposit performance, investment strategies, and credit risk.
Proficient in benchmarking peer performance and pricing using industry standards.
Advanced reporting capabilities using Excel, Jack Henry ProfitStars, and nCino Portfolio Analytics.
