located in the Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA. The Climate Pollution Reduction Program (CPRP) within the Department of Ecology seeks to fill this position. The role supports the long-term performance of Washington’s cap-and-invest program by helping ensure that the market stays transparent and free of fraud through monitoring auctions and trading in allowances and related markets. With finance and/or econometric skills, you will assess the market’s health with respect to Washington’s decarbonization commitments, and provide input for policy discussions on an ad-hoc basis. Work with Ecology’s Attorney(s) General to investigate potential rule violations and support follow-up enforcement actions to maintain market integrity. Through collaboration with Ecology staff, other State agencies, and cap-and-invest jurisdictions, you will develop a deep understanding of the nexus between emissions allowances, energy, and financial markets and serve as a subject matter expert on cap-and-invest market behavior for the Cap-and-Invest Group. Program Mission: The Climate Pollution Reduction Program’s (CPRP’s) mission is to implement policies and programs to reduce carbon emissions in Washington state, meeting statutory greenhouse gas emission limits and driving long-term strategic reductions for statewide and interstate impact. Note: This position offers a career path and on-the-job training, with progression through the Financial Examiner (FE) field toward the FE4. Candidates may be considered at the FE3 or FE4 level depending on qualifications. Salary levels are provided in the qualifications section. Tele-work and scheduling: This position offers a hybrid schedule with work-from-home flexibility up to 3 days per week, with in-office presence on Mondays and Tuesdays. Responsibilities

Monitor cap-and-invest auctions and related markets to support transparency and detect fraud.
