Housing Preservation & Development Technology (HPD Tech) is the IT division within HPD. HPD Tech aims to transform HPD through technology, promote productivity, reduce manual processing, and increase the pace of work. It provides core applications for execution and empowers decision-makers with access to quality information to respond to building, neighborhood, and market conditions. Your Impact
HPD Tech is seeking an IT Project Coordinator. This position reports to the Associate Commissioner – Planning and Compliance and helps drive planning, oversight, and coordination across IT programs and initiatives within the agency. Your Role
Your role focuses on supporting budget development, IT roadmaps, and tracking deliverables under the Planning and Compliance umbrella. You will work with HPD technology teams and stakeholders (Finance and ACCO within the agency) as well as external stakeholders (OMB), ensuring timely responses to inquiries and data requests. Your Responsibilities
Assist in the development, tracking, and reconciliation of IT-related budgets. Coordinate responses to stakeholder questions, including those from the NYC Office of Management and Budget (OMB), City Hall, and other oversight bodies. Analyze budget needs and collaborate with HPD Tech teams to create/manage a plan based on the technology roadmap. Work with the senior team within HPD Tech to develop/manage the technology roadmap. Collaborate with Finance, including OMB, to respond to technology-related questions. Manage and track resource allocation for HPD Tech across projects and operational activities. Compile reports, presentations, and briefing materials for leadership and external entities. Maintain organized records of planning documents, approvals, and correspondence. Schedule and facilitate meetings, prepare meeting materials, and ensure follow-up on action items. Perform professional, advanced-level budget coordination, preparation, research, analysis, forecasting, and administrative work. Communicate with stakeholders to explain budget projections, procedures, philosophies, and needs. Required Skills
More than 2 years of project management or IT management experience. Preferred Skills
More than 3 years of experience coordinating and supporting IT business processes. Experience in city budget management, including developing, monitoring, and forecasting budgets. Highly analytical with strong Excel skills. Effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and clients; ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical language. Knowledge of NYC funding types and eligibility. Understanding of multiple project management life-cycle methodologies (especially iterative development). Strong collaboration, relationship management, communication, and written skills. Sound judgment, detail oriented. PMP certification or equivalent preferred. Additional Information
