Department information The California Department of Social Services serves, protects, and supports the people of California. The mission is fulfilled by an inclusive, diverse, and equitable approach to services. The Information Systems Division (ISD) develops, supports, and promotes IT that adds business value by improving reliability and efficiency. This position focuses on the Software Systems Engineering domain, including architecture, development, operation, and maintenance of software systems, and related user research, design, testing, and implementation.

Job Description And Duties The Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) works independently and as a lead to develop, implement, operate, and maintain critical applications and both modern and legacy systems. The ITS I coordinates with staff on IT system problems and acts as a high-level technical specialist in information technology systems. Primary duties lie in the Software Engineering Domain, including architecture, development or configuration, testing, and implementation of business application services.

Special requirements

The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to hire.
