Zwicker is hiring an

Associate Attorney

to join our team in Rochester, New York. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and have exemplary organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties

Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, etc., in furtherance of active litigation files

Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action

Advocate on behalf of the client’s interests at various litigation settings

Utilize internal proprietary software to properly update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory

Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and litigation files, as assigned by the Managing Attorney, to ensure that proper litigation workflow is being performed according to the Firm and client expectations

Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures

Ability to travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Admission to practice law in the state of New York

Strong organizational and time management skills

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Highly motivated self-starter

Eagerness to learn

Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of one year of litigation/trial experience

Working knowledge of civil procedure

Debt collection experience

Prior experience in high volume environment

Physical Qualifications

Be able to lift five pounds or more

Be able to sit 90% of the work day at times

Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed

Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence

Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing

Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device

Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule

Be able to travel occasionally when needed by the most efficient means of transportation
