Overview
A well-established Chicago-based family law firm is seeking a Family Law Paralegal to join its dedicated and compassionate legal team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on cases involving divorce, custody, support, and other family law matters while providing meaningful support to clients during critical times in their lives. Responsibilities
Draft, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents. Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and organized client files. Communicate directly with clients to gather information, provide updates, and assist with case preparation. Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and other involved parties. Assist attorneys in preparing trial binders, exhibits, and settlement documentation. Perform basic accounting tasks such as tracking retainers and billing activity. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a law firm or other legal setting; family law experience preferred. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive or confidential information with discretion. Basic understanding of accounting concepts. Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Base pay range
