JCW is currently partnered with a growing insurance firm looking to bring on an Accounting Manager to their team. The firm is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Director of Accounting with strong financial reporting experience, specifically within the property and casualty (P&C) insurance sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving continuous improvements in accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements for the property and casualty business in accordance with GAAP and statutory (STAT) accounting principles.
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring all accounting activities are completed efficiently and accurately.
Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is a plus).
5+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a management role within the property and casualty insurance industry.
In-depth knowledge of property and casualty insurance financial reporting, including experience with statutory accounting (STAT) and GAAP.
Strong experience with financial statement preparation, regulatory filings, and financial analysis.
