Overview
Senior Payroll Analyst role for a Global Media Entertainment Firm. Location: Los Angeles, CA. This position reports to the Payroll Manager and supports North America payroll operations (US, Canada, and Mexico) with collaboration across Finance, Accounting, and HR. Responsibilities
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data for new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax laws and wage and hour requirements. Prepare and file all payroll-related tax reports, including federal, state, local, and unemployment taxes. Conduct regular internal payroll audits to verify data accuracy and adherence to company policies. Lead preparation for external audits, providing necessary documentation and data to internal and external auditors. Reconcile payroll accounts and GL entries at month, quarter, and year-end; investigate and resolve discrepancies. Generate and analyze payroll reports for management, providing insights on trends and improvements. Develop and maintain tracking methods for complex, multi-jurisdictional and multi-entity payroll structures, reporting weekly on issues and solutions. Serve as the primary contact for all payroll-related inquiries from employees, resolving basic and escalated issues end-to-end. Assist with maintenance and updating of payroll systems to ensure data integrity and compliance. Participate in system upgrades, testing, and the implementation of new payroll software or features. Support payroll-related projects aimed at process improvements and policy development. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance. 4+ years of experience in payroll processing and payroll taxes. Experience with ADP and Workday Payroll. CPP is a plus. Job details
