Job Summary:
We are seeking a
Pain Management Physician
with
interventional procedure experience
to join our comprehensive pain management program. This role offers the chance to combine hands-on patient care with medical leadership, allowing you to not only treat patients you’re passionate about but also shape and lead a high-performing team. With the
opportunity to grow into a Medical Director role , you’ll have the platform to influence program development, implement innovative approaches, and leverage your talents to advance both patient care and the strategic growth of the practice.
The ideal candidate will combine clinical expertise in interventional pain procedures with leadership skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with acute, chronic, and cancer-related pain. As a leader in this unique role, the physician will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and refine pain management strategies, ensuring adherence to best practices, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
The Physician is responsible for administering and interpreting all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations within the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. This position will also educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments; may also conduct physicals, order tests and serve as a patient's healthcare provider.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct pain management interventions, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, minimally invasive procedures, and the integration of multidisciplinary approaches (e.g., physical therapy, behavioral health, interventional techniques).
Stay current on the latest developments and research in pain management, incorporating evidence-based practices into clinical protocols and guidelines.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and accreditation standards, including CMS, The Joint Commission, and relevant local authorities.
Address and resolve complex patient care issues, including coordinating care with other departments as needed.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, physical therapists, psychologists, and other specialists in pain management.
Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes through audits, performance metrics, and patient satisfaction surveys.
Clinical Leadership:
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the providers in the pain management clinic.
Oversee and provide leadership for the network's pain management program, ensuring that care delivery aligns with current best practices, ethical standards, and patient-centered outcomes.
Lead clinical teams to develop individualized pain management plans for patients with complex pain conditions, including chronic, post-operative, and cancer-related pain.
Work closely with hospital and clinic leadership to monitor and improve program efficiency, financial performance, and patient satisfaction.
Quality Improvement and Compliance
Lead quality improvement (QI) initiatives aimed at improving pain management outcomes, reducing patient suffering, and optimizing patient safety
Develop and enforce protocols that ensure compliance with controlled substance management, addressing the opioid crisis, and following state and federal regulations.
Implement strategies to minimize opioid dependency while maximizing effective pain relief, incorporating multimodal pain management techniques.
Education and Training:
Lead the education and training of medical staff, including residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals involved in pain management.
Stay involved in the ongoing professional development of clinical staff, ensuring they are up to date with the latest pain management techniques and research.
Provide educational opportunities and support to patients and families to help them manage chronic pain and improve quality of life.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
Coordinates the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients, to optimize patient care.
Reviews patient medical charts to diagnose, treat, and provide care management and education to patients and families.
Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores. Demonstrates patient centered and patient valued behavior.
Maintains a collaborative environment with other referring physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support staff to provide quality patient care.
Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.
Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in the process.
Partners and communicates with acumen to build a positive brand and patient/customer experience for those who encounter JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group. This would include health network staff, vendors, outside partners, patients, stakeholders, and local community leaders.
Serves as a resource to the community.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
