SUMMARY
Kier + Wright is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior civil engineer to join our growing water department. This is an excellent chance to gain experience working on a broad range of water resources engineering projects with a primary focus in water, recycled water, wastewater systems, and permitting through design.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Proposals: Lead marketing and business development efforts including writing water resources sections of proposals, participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
Project Management: Oversee project management for stormwater and watershed master planning, NPDES MS4 programmatic support, and capital improvement projects.
Project Management: Manage client relationships and subconsultant contracts.
Project Management: Analyze proposed designs for reliability, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.
Staff Management: Mentor junior staff through technical issues and professional development.
Technical: Permitting new water, recycled water and wastewater systems and facilities.
Technical: Develop design standards and prepare technical reports.
Technical: Lead civil, hydrologic, and hydraulic engineering analyses for hydraulic structures and facilities, including stormwater management ponds, drainage infrastructure, low impact development features, and green infrastructure.
Technical: Prepare technical studies, design reports, and stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP).
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
7-15 years of experience
Extensive experience using stormwater modeling software, including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and StormCAD. Knowledge of WaterCAD preferred.
Proficiency in CAD and Bluebeam.
Preferred experience with various FEMA LOMC submittals and coordination
Professional Engineering (PE) license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR WORKING CONDITIONS
Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 8 hours a day for office staff)
Interacting with technology (computer, cellphone, etc.)
Ability to lift and/or carry items ( up to 20 lbs.)
Prolonged periods of standing/walking (field checks)
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (field checks)
Occasional travel e.g. driving to offices, jobsites, client meetings, etc.
