Job Description Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 SUMMARY Kier + Wright is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior civil engineer to join our growing water department. This is an excellent chance to gain experience working on a broad range of water resources engineering projects with a primary focus on water, recycled water, wastewater systems, and permitting through design. RESPONSIBILITIES Proposals Lead marketing and business development efforts, including writing water resources sections of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts. Project Management Oversee project management for stormwater and watershed master planning, NPDES MS4 programmatic support, and capital improvement projects. Manage client relationships and subconsultant contracts. Analyze proposed designs for reliability, constructability, and cost-effectiveness. Staff Management Mentor junior staff through technical issues and professional development. Technical Permitting of new water, recycled water, and wastewater systems and facilities. Develop design standards and prepare technical reports. Lead civil, hydrologic, and hydraulic engineering analyses for hydraulic structures and facilities, including stormwater management ponds, drainage infrastructure, low impact development features, and green infrastructure. Prepare technical studies, design reports, and stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP). EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field 7-15 years of experience Extensive experience with stormwater modeling software, including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, and WaterCAD. Proficiency in CAD and Bluebeam. Experience with FEMA LOMC submittals and coordination. Professional Engineering (PE) license. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 8 hours for office staff). Interaction with technology (computers, cellphones, etc.). Ability to lift and carry items up to 20 lbs. Prolonged standing/walking during field checks. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
