APP (NURSE PRACTITIONER OR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT) - INPATIENT FLOAT at University of Washington. This opening is for 100% FTE, Days; with weekend and holiday coverage, and potential for some night shifts. A $10,000 recruitment incentive/sign-on bonus is available for eligible new employees joining UW Medicine. Responsibilities

Practice high quality evidence-based medicine within the scope of a licensed APP in the inpatient acute care setting. Rotate among inpatient services including General Surgery, Medicine Polytrauma Service, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and Burns. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions; develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Monitor and evaluate patient progress; adjust treatment plans as necessary. Perform procedures within scope and training; order and interpret diagnostic tests; prescribe and manage medications. Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams; provide patient and family education. Engage in discharge planning and follow-up care coordination. Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols; complete learning modules and continuing education. Provide mentorship and guidance to other staff and students as appropriate. Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner: Masters or Doctorate in Nursing; Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges; national certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant: Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Washington; national certification (NCCPA). BLS/ACLS certification required. Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medical Staff under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions.
