Responsibilities

We are actively hiring for a

Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp PACU . Flexibility to work at both locations. Monday - Friday GI only Center. Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA. Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status at intervals according to facility or healthcare organization policies and procedures, including assessment of cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological systems, hemodynamic stability, pain, comfort needs, and mental status. Interpret information accurately from various monitors. Describe the underlying pathophysiology of common disease processes. Describe physiology related to anesthesia techniques and surgical interventions. Apply scoring systems/discharge criteria (e.g., Aldrete Score, PADSS) for patient transfer as defined by organizational policy. Develop and implement individualized peri-anesthesia care plans. Manage patient recovery from anesthesia, including preparing for and managing recovery from general, monitored, regional, or local anesthesia. Protect patients from injury caused by positioning, thermal sources, and extraneous objects. Communicate patient status throughout the peri-anesthesia continuum. Provide pain and comfort management, administer medications safely, and perform interventions to maintain tissue perfusion and system stability. Assess patient knowledge, involve support persons, and provide education about care and recovery. Respect patient rights, dignity, and privacy; provide age-specific and culturally competent care. Evaluate patient progress, transfer care as needed, and document care thoroughly. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participate in quality improvement, and maintain professional competencies. Act as a patient advocate, ensure confidentiality, and comply with policies. Participate in team meetings, safety huddles, and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Minimum of one year of Preoperative or PACU experience. Medical/surgical nursing experience preferred. Current state nursing license in good standing. Current BLS/BCLS certification; ACLS certification within 90 days of employment. PALS certification required if pediatric care is included.
