Overview
Location: La Jolla, CA 92093. The McGrath Outpatient Pavilion (Hillcrest) is a state-of-the-art facility opened to support outpatient care, including cancer care, obstetric and gynecologic services. UC San Diego Health is seeking an OB/GYN sonographer to join a collaborative team of Maternal Fetal Medicine and OB/Gyn specialists to deliver world-class, patient-centered obstetric care. Position title:
OB/GYN/Perinatal Sonographer. Extended Deadline: Tue 9/23/2025. Responsibilities
Perform early obstetrical ultrasound to confirm pregnancy location, cardiac activity, dating, and assess maternal uterus and adnexa using transabdominal and transvaginal approaches. Cross-train to perform perinatal obstetric ultrasound examinations including: detailed first and second trimester anatomical surveys, fetal growth, and cervical length assessments; recognize normal and pathological conditions and apply Doppler, 3D/4D as indicated. Obtain relevant history via EMR, image according to protocol, review cases with the care team, and generate preliminary reports using structured reporting software. Troubleshoot imaging IT issues as required. May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire date. Commitment to continued education in MFM ultrasound by obtaining at least 15 CMEs (20 CMEs for Principal level) every 36 months in OB ultrasound and/or fetal echocardiography. Recent OB ultrasound experience in a similar role and setting. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills. Demonstrate knowledge of sonographic assessment of maternal-fetal conditions, including fetal anatomy, physiology, anomalies, and high-risk maternal factors. Preferred Qualifications
Recent experience performing GYN ultrasound in a similar role and setting. Two to three (2-3) years OB (fetal) ultrasound experience. Special Conditions
