Overview
Entry-Level Civil Engineer to be based in New York City, Latham, NY or Buffalo, NY. AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, NY October 15-17. This is a great opportunity to learn about career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. The event includes a networking mixer on Wednesday evening (6-8 pm) and interviews on Thursday and Friday at our New York office. This position is expected to begin in May or June 2026. On projects spanning transportation, buildings, water, governments, energy, and the environment, we deliver professional services throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities
Builds analytic and design skills. Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred. Previous internship experience in a transportation discipline. Additional Information
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in New York City, Latham, NY or Buffalo, NY. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
