Our ideal candidate has a gracious and accommodating approach that comes easily to them. Availability on weekends and holidays is required. This Maître d’ role is based at Estela, one of the most celebrated restaurants in the United States, an intimate downtown bistro from chef Ignacio Mattos. Estela has earned a Michelin star and is known for its cuisine and guest experience. Base pay range
$35.00/hr - $40.00/hr
Responsibilities
Maître d' is the first point of contact for guests and works with management to ensure pleasurable dining experiences. Lead a team and communicate clearly, calmly, and concisely. Maintain a pleasant demeanor to foster a welcoming environment for guests. Balance the nuanced demands of a dynamic service position and keep the flow of service. Be familiar with reservations systems (e.g., Resy) or similar platforms. Qualifications / Requirements for Success
Previous customer service experience. Previous experience as a Maître d'. Ability to lead a team and manage guest flow in fast-paced environments. Strong and clear communication skills. Willingness to learn and grow. Availability to work on weekends and holidays. Experience using Resy or a similar platform. Guest Service
Ensure all guests consistently receive courteous and efficient service. Respond promptly to customer concerns and complaints. Communicate any food allergy or special nutrition needs to the kitchen team. Maintain a welcoming and orderly restaurant environment. Build relationships with repeat guests. Company Values
