Design and Release Engineer - Exterior Trims
We are looking for a Design and Release Engineer with experience in Exterior Trims to support the development and release of exterior components for vehicle programs. The engineer will work collaboratively with design, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure components meet performance, quality, and timing requirements.
Responsibilities
Support the design, development, and release of exterior trim components such as bumpers, grilles, etc.
Create and update 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM)
Collaborate with styling, manufacturing, validation, and purchasing teams to ensure design feasibility.
Assist in preparing and maintaining DFMEA, DVP&R, and other engineering documentation.
Coordinate with suppliers on tooling, manufacturability, and design issues.
Support prototype builds, validation testing, and issue resolution.
Ensure all designs meet performance, durability, and regulatory requirements.
Track and process engineering changes as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
+3 years of experience in exterior trim or body component design and release.
Proficiency in CATIA V5, NX, and Teamcenter (or equivalent PLM systems).
Understanding of plastic injection molding, surface modeling, and GD&T.
Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, and issue tracking processes.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Experience with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers in the automotive industry.
