Provide instruction, leadership, and supervision to middle school students participating in the sports program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with practices, emphasizing teamwork, skill development, learning rules and strategies, and student-athlete improvement. Engage in academic monitoring with teachers, counselors, and academic support staff. Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including in locker rooms, on buses, and at all other times. Be punctual for all practices and games and ensure all student-athletes have left before departing. Maintain responsibility for equipment and inventory. Complete all required paperwork, including rosters, physicals, insurance forms, and parent consent forms. Coordinate transportation, facilities, officials, and game management information. Conduct oneself ethically during practices and contests, exemplifying sportsmanship. Assist in program coordination. Promote student-athletes' academic and athletic achievements. Pursue professional growth through clinics and publications. Attend New Hire Employee Orientation (if applicable) – 7 hours. Complete Mandatory Safe Schools Online Training (if applicable). Supervisory Responsibilities
Student-athletes Minimum Qualifications
Must have a Teachers Certificate, valid Substitute Certificate, or Temporary (provisional) Teacher’s Certificate. Preferred Qualifications
Be a full or part-time employee in the District. Employed as a teacher or administrator in the school where the candidate applies for the position. Physical Demands
This job requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands and fingers, reach, bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
