Overview

The Department of Physics at The Ohio State University announces an opening for a tenure-track faculty hire in theoretical or experimental Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (AMOP). The appointment is effective in Autumn 2026 at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. AMOP at OSU is a top-tier interdisciplinary program, highlighted by the 2023 Nobel Prize to Pierre Agostini. OSU operates two national user facilities (NeXUS and Scarlet). The candidate should show strong potential for excellence in all aspects of scholarship, complementing and enhancing existing AMOP competencies (such as quantum information, attosecond physics, and high-intensity laser–plasma interaction) with the vision of contributing to OSU’s ongoing efforts as a major AMO hub for the future.
