Assistant Professor of Applied Microeconomics — Swarthmore College Location: Swarthmore College Open Date: Sep 22, 2025 Description: The Department of Economics at Swarthmore College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in applied microeconomics at the assistant professor level, to begin in Fall 2026. We seek candidates committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and scholarly research who contribute to diverse and inclusive communities. Successful candidates will teach courses in their areas of expertise and throughout the microeconomics and/or econometrics sequences, including at the advanced undergraduate level. Swarthmore College is a highly selective liberal arts college located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, with a mission that combines academic rigor with social responsibility. The department consists of active scholars with 13 tenured or tenure-track faculty, a diverse student population, and abundant opportunities for collaboration. The standard teaching load is 2 courses per semester, with a paid sabbatical every fourth year and generous research support. Teach courses in microeconomics and/or econometrics sequences at the undergraduate level, including advanced courses. Engage in scholarly research and contribute to the department’s intellectual community. Mentor and advise undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. Collaborate with colleagues and students on research and teaching initiatives. Qualifications

Ph.D. in economics or related discipline in hand by August 2026. Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated potential for high-quality, impactful scholarship. Application Instructions
