The University of West Georgia (UWG) is seeking part-time, adjunct faculty to teach introductory, undergraduate human/physical geography and GIS lectures and laboratory courses.
Job Summary : Part-time faculty are critical to the mission of the Geography Program to meet the course demands of UWG students. Part-time positions may or may not be available every semester; part-time faculty are hired as needed. However, part-time opportunities are typically available each semester.
Responsibilities : To teach introductory human/physical geography and GIS lecture and/or laboratory courses (e.g., GEOG 1013, 1112, 1112L, 1113, and 1113L; GEOG/ENVS 2202 and 2202L).
Required Qualifications :
Minimum of 18 graduate level course credits in geography, environmental science, or related discipline.
Candidates must provide information/references that support teaching effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
Applications and credentials (e.g., M.S. in Geography or Environmental Science) should correlate with the specific areas of application.
Teaching experience in lecture and laboratory settings.
