Overview
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Division of Surgical Research at University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine. Tenured/Tenure-track faculty position (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor). The Department of Surgery in the Morsani College of Medicine seeks applicants with an excellent record of achievement to join a collaborative Division of Surgical Research. The focus includes fundamental and translational studies in the pathophysiology of diseases relevant to surgical research, with emphasis on cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary or cerebrovascular function in inflammatory disease processes. Candidates should have a MD, PhD or equivalent degree, a strong publication record, and must have current extramural funding. Physician scientists are encouraged to apply. Candidates selected are expected to maintain an independent, extramurally funded research program. Responsibilities
Teaching Duties: Contribute to graduate and/or medical school education. Research Duties: Conduct basic and translational research related to surgical disease pathophysiology; publish in major peer-reviewed journals; maintain an independent, extramurally funded research program. Administrative Duties: Serve on departmental, MCOM or University committees as deemed appropriate by the Chair and Dean of MCOM. Essential Functions: Teach, conduct research, provide service, and perform related administrative activities; participate in academic advising where applicable; represent the university as needed. Qualifications
Minimum
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field; demonstrated achievement in teaching, research, and service; eligible for appointment at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor; record of creative work or publications in refereed journals; recognized authority in the field. Preferred
Current extramural funding (R01-level equivalent; K99/R00 acceptable for Assistant Professor level). About Us
