Security Project Manager
to lead critical projects that protect the infrastructure, systems, and operations of a leading utility provider. This role is ideal for a security professional with deep expertise in
utility sector operations, compliance (NERC CIP), and risk management , who thrives in high-stakes environments where safety, reliability, and resilience are paramount. Responsibilities
Lead and deliver large-scale
security initiatives
across substations, transmission, and distribution assets. Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, including planning, budgeting, execution, and reporting. Oversee the implementation of
physical security systems
(access control, surveillance, perimeter protection) and
cybersecurity programs
(SCADA/OT protection, smart grid security). Ensure compliance with
NERC CIP, FERC, DHS, and state-level requirements . Conduct
risk and vulnerability assessments
for critical infrastructure and develop mitigation strategies. Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, operations, regulatory affairs) and external vendors to deliver secure, cost-effective solutions. Act as the point of contact with
regulators, law enforcement, and emergency response partners . Mentor and guide junior project managers and security team members. Qualifications
5+ years of experience
in security project management, preferably in the
utility/energy sector . Proven success managing
multi-million-dollar projects
in both
physical and cybersecurity domains . Strong knowledge of
NERC CIP standards, utility compliance frameworks, and risk management practices . Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills. PMP, CISSP, CPP, or equivalent certifications strongly preferred.
