Tenure Status: Tenure Track Minimum Qualifications: An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in special education or a related field by the start date. Position Summary: The Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank in the area of Special Education Adapted Curriculum to begin August 1, 2026. The Department seeks to hire a motivated faculty member with research and teaching interests broadly positioned within special education for students with moderate to severe disabilities, including but not limited to secondary-aged students, post-secondary transition, and/or adapting general education curriculum. Additional Requirements: Evidence of high-quality research or evidence of potential to do so. Demonstrated ability to secure external funding or evidence of potential to do so. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, And/or Certification: Experience teaching at least one special education course at the undergraduate and graduate level. Three years of P-12 teaching, or equivalent experience. Specialization in one or more of the following areas: secondary-aged students with moderate to severe disabilities, post-secondary transition, or adapting general education curriculum.
