Apex is a growth-focused consulting & engineering firm seeking a Sr Environmental Health and Safety Project Manager. This is a part-time, variable-hours role. Role Overview

This role focuses on employee accident prevention and will execute a variety of occupational safety projects from start to finish. The role involves a blend of workplace/shop-floor injury exposure assessments and safety program management effectiveness evaluations with continuous improvement support. The incumbent will work on a part-time, variable basis, selecting projects that fit their availability and skills. A major initial project involves completing and project-managing a broad "Safety Risk Analysis" effort, including classifying and documenting employee injury exposures and safety risks across production spaces/buildings, creating and posting risk-specific signage by department, as part of the client’s companywide Risk Register and Injury Reduction initiative. A strong background in several high-hazard topics is required (listed below). The prominent technical area is Industrial/Occupational Safety, with a general base of knowledge in Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene desirable. The incumbent will provide project leadership and project management functions and should be an energetic self-starter capable of independent work within budget and timeframe. Your Responsibilities as an Apex Occupational Safety Professional

Provide comprehensive occupational safety and health consulting services to clients. Review existing safety and health programs from regulatory compliance and effectiveness perspectives. Perform shop-floor observations to identify, assess, and risk-rank employee exposures. Devise solution options to mitigate employee injury exposures and assist with implementation. Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions over time. Track and analyze clients’ injury experience to identify trends and high-leverage prevention activities. Coordinate and execute industrial safety projects with Apex project managers following organizational procedures and standards. Collaborate with external customers to design, implement, and execute service plans; monitor progress and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain project velocity. Act as an advisor to customers on occupational safety issues. Provide input to project managers, client relationship managers, or business development staff on potential new EHS projects and participate in business development as directed. What we are looking for

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 10+ years of experience in occupational safety / employee accident prevention. Desirable: Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Experience in manufacturing & assembly or heavy industry settings is a plus; aerospace/defense or automotive industry experience is a further plus. Experience with data entry and extraction from EHS data-warehousing software (examples: Enablon, GenSuite, Origami, Intelex). Extensive knowledge of occupational safety topics and practical application in real-world settings, including: Shop Floor Hazard Identification, Job Safety Analysis / Job Hazard Analysis Employee Injury Data Analysis, Machine Guarding Slip/Trip/Fall Prevention, Falls from Elevation Lockout/Tagout & Energized Electrical Equipment Safety, Confined Space Entry Personal Protective Equipment, Safety Committees & Safety Meetings/Training Powered Industrial Truck Safety, Contractor Safety Broad OSHA regulations understanding Strong interpersonal communication skills and a proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to negotiate with stakeholders Ensures regulatory compliance and keeps up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations Strong technical writing, multi-tasking ability, safety awareness, and safe work practices Experience with data management and report preparation Valid driver’s license and proficiency with Microsoft Office Why you will want to work at Apex
