The chief responsibility of the department is to assure the best possible outcomes for patients having surgical operations, painful invasive procedures, and childbirth. The attending anesthesiologist administers care alone or supervises physicians-in-training (residents), certified registered nurse anesthetists, and certified anesthesiologist assistants. When working alone, the anesthesiologist examines the patient before and after anesthesia, writes pre- and post-anesthesia orders, confirms that the patient is ready for anesthesia before induction, manages the anesthetic period, and follows the patient as long as is appropriate in the post-anesthesia period. The attending may perform these services in the operating room, labor and delivery, radiology, and the outpatient procedure center. One or more attendings will be available at all times to provide these services. The position is full-time and will be assigned clinical duties in any of the University of Colorado School of Medicine-affiliated hospitals included in University of Colorado Hospital affiliates. The candidate must have a strong working and theoretical knowledge of Anesthesiology and Peri-operative Medicine. All attending anesthesiologists must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Colorado. All are expected to be either in the examination process of the American Board of Anesthesiologists ("board eligible") or a Diplomat of the Board, or to be holding certification of foreign training that is recognized as equivalent to its diploma by the American Board of Anesthesiology. This role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: All attending anesthesiologists must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Colorado. All are expected to be either in the examination process of the American Board of Anesthesiologists ("board eligible") or a Diplomat of the Board, or to be holding certification of foreign training that is recognized as equivalent to its diploma by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Salary: The starting salary range for this position has been established as Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice - $330,165 (hiring range). Not eligible for overtime unless non-exempt.
