The Accounting Manager will lead the accounting function for a $120M residential renovation company, overseeing high-volume AP, month-end/quarter-end close, and construction-specific financials such as job costing and WIP analysis. This role combines technical accounting, financial reporting, automation initiatives, and team leadership in a professional, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage high volume AP (~7k invoices/month) with domestic and international staff, and lead automation/AI initiatives. Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including reconciliations, accruals and journal entries. Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow). Lead construction/project accounting: job costing, WIP analysis, revenue recognition, and profitability reporting. Manage cash flow forecasting and support external audits. Supervise and mentor accounting staff across AP, AR, and project accounting. Minimum Qualifications & Skills
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, but Bachelor’s degree preferred 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in construction or project-based accounting is preferred. Understanding of job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and construction accounting concepts. Strong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit procedures. Proficiency in Sage Intacct ERP and intermediate Excel skills (Pivot tables, IF statements, XLOOKUP). Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Organizational Culture
