Assistant Professor of Instruction - Department of Behavioral Health Science and Practice
The Department of Behavioral Health Science & Practice (BHSP), College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS), University of South Florida (USF) invites applications from qualified candidates to fill a 9-month faculty position as an Instructor. Salary is competitive. Position Description : This position will involve development and teaching of primarily undergraduate courses and involvement in other administrative tasks related to teaching as assigned by the Academic Director or Chair of BHSP. Responsibilities : The successful candidate is expected to have a teaching or training background in behavioral health related to one or more of the following areas:
Behavioral healthcare across the lifespan Children’s behavioral healthcare (systems, policies, and practices) Technology in behavioral healthcare (e.g., telehealth, AI, virtual reality, neurofeedback) Integration of behavioral and physical healthcare Prevention, health promotion, and early intervention in behavioral health Underserved populations and disparities in behavioral health services Behavioral health issues within the adult/juvenile justice systems Public sector mental health and substance use services and workforce Behavioral health access, policy, and financing Trauma-informed care Behavioral healthcare in rural / remote areas Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications : The successful candidate must hold, at a minimum, a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience; a demonstrated record of teaching or training in areas consistent with the mission of BHSP; and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Preferred Qualifications : Beyond minimum qualifications, the preferred candidate will hold a terminal degree (e.g., DSW, PhD, EdD, EdS, DrPH), have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a record of collaborative work with academic and/or community partners, and two more years of experience teaching and/or training at the undergraduate or graduate level. While not required, clinical licensure is preferred. Applicants are required to submit the following in support of their application:
