Overview

Assistant Principal Elementary School - 25/26 SY for Community Unit School District 300. Full Time position for the 2025-2026 school year. Responsibilities

Assist in the development and administration of school programs consistent with district goals and objectives. Provide leadership and direction to staff for ongoing evaluation and improvement of educational programs, including curricular and extracurricular activities. Promote a safe school environment conducive to individualized instruction, collaborative curriculum development, and student learning. Prepare class schedules, master schedules, and extracurricular activities. Assist in ensuring Board policies and procedures are implemented and followed at the school. Continuously acquire professional knowledge and stay current in the educational field through seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or research. Encourage staff professional growth and experimentation with new teaching approaches. Supervise departments as assigned; coordinate work of school staff and district program leaders to develop and implement instructional programs and teaching practices. Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and collaborate with staff to modify instructional methods to fit student needs, including students with special needs. Assist in recruitment and selection of employees, maintenance of personnel files, administration of collective bargaining agreements, corrective action, and other HR issues. Involve staff in evaluating programs and planning new ones; encourage parental involvement and effective communication with students and parents. Ensure student conduct and attendance conform to school standards and district policies; supervise and evaluate teaching staff and building employees per the district evaluation plan. Assist in budgetary and financial affairs consistent with district policies. Articulate and promote core values defining the school's culture: child-centered education, high expectations, student support, equity, inclusiveness, social justice, openness, caring, and continuous improvement; act with cultural competence and responsiveness. Ensure equitable access to effective teachers, learning opportunities, and resources for all students. Address student misconduct positively and fairly. Qualifications

Certification:

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative Endorsement Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of current teaching methods and pedagogy; knowledge of elementary curriculum; administration, program evaluation, and staff supervision; data analysis and action planning; applicable laws; computer proficiency; project development; effective communication with students and parents; ability to manage multiple tasks; self-evaluation and professional growth; ability to build cooperative relationships; demonstrated leadership and communication skills; familiarity with Danielson Framework; experience with diverse populations; preferred Three-Tiered Intervention Model experience. Experience:

Extensive successful teaching experience at the elementary level; administrative experience preferred. Salary and Benefits
