Assistant Director of Admissions, Alumni Engagement

The University of California, Berkeley is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions, Alumni Engagement to develop and implement programs for student outreach and admissions. Departmental Overview : The Office of Undergraduate Admissions must provide a fair opportunity for every applicant to obtain admission to the University and operate in a professional manner. Position Summary : Involves developing and implementing programs for student outreach and admissions, educating the public about admissions requirements, policies, and processes, and assessing applicants' overall record and experience for final admissions recommendation. Responsibilities

Outreach/Recruitment: Serves as point of contact for assigned schools/community colleges, represents the University at school visits and college fairs, and plans events to enhance interest and yield. Advising: Serves as liaison between students, parents, colleges/universities, community agencies, and UC Berkeley, provides in-depth information on admissions requirements, and assists prospective applicants with course planning. Application Review: Serves as lead reader for assigned region, reads and scores applications, and assesses academic preparedness of applicants. Evaluation: Maintains a caseload of newly admitted students, performs course-by-course evaluations for transfer credits, and evaluates transcripts for prospective, new, and continuing students. Campus Partnerships: Plans, develops, coordinates, and implements activities for undergraduate student development in partnership with campus programs. Professional Development & Other Duties: Supports the activities of the office, Enrollment Management, and Student Affairs, and stays current on changing educational systems and policies. Required Qualifications

Thorough knowledge and experience working with a variety of student populations. Ability to interpret and communicate University policies and procedures to prospective students and the public. Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions. Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills. Experience and skill in prospective student engagement and knowledge of marketing research and analysis. Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Preferred Qualifications

Knowledgeable about Office of the President, Board of Admission and Relations with Schools (BOARS), and the Berkeley campus' Admissions Enrollment & Preparatory Education Committee (AEPE). Bilingual/multilingual capabilities. Salary & Benefits

The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $80,155.00 - $85,813.00. Equal Employment Opportunity
