Compensation Analyst I Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:30am-5:00pm Pay rate:
$26.00-$32.00/hr. Based on experience Job Overview
The Compensation Analyst I will assist in collecting and analyzing compensation data, job descriptions, and organizational structures. They will evaluate positions, determine salary ranges, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Job Duties
Demonstrates knowledge of the city’s policies related to compensation functions, civil service commission rules, and the City’s Compensation Plan. Assists in inputting and updating compensation plan changes in the human resources information system (HRIS). Maintains integrity of the HRIS system by ensuring accurate and consistent input for position management data requests according to policies and procedures. Assists in reviewing class specifications submitted by departments. Inputs class specification into software. Reviews and investigates basic requests for reclassifications. Plans and conducts audits and coordinates discussions with incumbents and supervisors. Prepares reports on findings and recommendations. Demonstrates knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act. Conducts salary surveys and provides information in response to internal and external benchmarking studies. Reviews class specifications to determine Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status. Provides an initial review of salary-related requests. Conducts analysis and provides a recommendation. Monitors and answers basic queries received in the team-shared inbox. Performs other duties as assigned Education/Experience
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. One year of experience working directly in the areas of employee compensation and classification or closely related experience Certifications and Other Requirements
Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, and strong in data management. Weekly pay and benefits available!
