LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager for a leading company in the real estate and warehousing industry based in Dallas, TX. This position will be responsible for overseeing indirect tax compliance and audit management across a multi-state environment while managing outsourced processes and driving operational excellence. Responsibilities Direct and oversee all aspects of indirect tax compliance, including sales and use, property, gross receipts, business licenses, and unclaimed property. Manage the outsourced property tax and sales tax compliance functions, ensuring service providers deliver accurate, timely, and efficient results. Lead and resolve state and local indirect tax audits, amended returns, appeals, and refund claims while mitigating risks and driving favorable outcomes. Ensure proper filing schedules and deadlines are met for hundreds of monthly state and local tax returns, either in-house or through third-party vendors. Partner closely with accounting, finance, IT, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of tax compliance processes. Oversee the use and ongoing improvements of Thomson Reuters OneSource Sales & Use Compliance, including system enhancements and SAP connectivity. Provide guidance and tax research to business leaders, vendors, and customers while staying updated on regulatory developments. Drive initiatives to enhance automation, streamline workflows, and improve efficiency within tax operations. Prepare and maintain tax policies, manuals, and documentation to ensure compliance and consistency with current practices. Lead special projects and deliver strategic tax analysis to senior leadership as needed. Client Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. At least seven years of progressive experience in corporate tax or public accounting, with a minimum of four years focused on indirect tax compliance. Two or more years of leadership experience managing people, processes, or projects in a multi-state or large enterprise setting. Hands-on experience overseeing outsourced service providers or third-party vendors. Strong background in driving process improvements and implementing automation solutions. Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise, with proficiency in complex functions and reporting tools. Experience working with SAP and Thomson Reuters OneSource is strongly preferred.
