Admissions Counselor PRN

Seven Hills Hospital, located in Henderson, NV, is a growing, private, 134-bed psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing high-quality care for adults, geriatrics, and adolescents (ages 5-17) suffering from behavioral health and chemical dependency issues. We are seeking an Admissions Counselor to join our team of highly dedicated mental health professionals. The Admissions Counselor will be responsible for facilitating the intake, admission, and utilization review process for incoming patients, including performing insurance benefit verifications, providing accurate and ongoing assessment of patient status, and responding to inquiries about the facility. Essential Functions: Facilitate intake, admission, and utilization review process for incoming patients. Perform insurance benefit verifications and disseminate the information gathered to patients, their families, and appropriate internal staff. Provide accurate and ongoing assessment of patient status in the admission and utilization process. Respond to inquiries about the facility within facility policy timeframes. Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments and communicate recommendations to patients or their families. Collaborate with other facility medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions. Provide education to patients and their families throughout their stay. Perform ongoing assessments of physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and financial needs of patients and implement crisis intervention and referral. Provide education regarding healthcare and social resource systems to empower patients and their families to access resources independently. Other Functions: Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. Education/Experience/Skill Requirements: Master's degree in Therapeutic Counseling, Behavioral Science, Social Work, or a related field. Three plus years of mental/behavioral health experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the area of specialty for the facility. Experience in the managed care pre-certification process, level of care assessments, and utilization. Licenses/Designations/Certifications: Current licensure, as required for the area of clinical specialty, i.e., current RN license, CAC, or other clinical counseling or therapy license, as designated by the state in which the facility operates. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility.
