Overview
Billing Coordinator role at University of Connecticut. Under the general supervision of the Finance Manager, the Billing Coordinator will provide direct support to administer all aspects of the billing process related to student fees for all residential campuses. This position provides oversight to the billing processes for winter and summer housing, including conferences, campus, summer school, athlete preseason, and early arrivals. Responsibilities
Coordinate billing processes for residential life housing and damage fees, including export fees, reconciling charges with money collected, modifying charges when necessary, and processing waivers and credits for each billing cycle of the year. Coordinate billing codes in the housing software, create terms, and upgrade the system when necessary; perform thorough testing and monitoring. Provide University staff with data related to housing fees for auditing and budget construction purposes. Respond to billing inquiries from students, parents, and other constituent groups; analyze problems, recommend solutions, and implement decisions. Coordinate housing revenue budget data and reconciliations for Storrs and Stamford housing assignments; create reports. Maintain shadow budgets by recording financial encumbrances and expenditures, and preparing financial reports. Assist the supervisor in reconciling departmental budget, controlling expenditures, and preparing monthly reports. Perform office management duties; direct workflow and supervise administrative paperwork, including fiscal records, travel reimbursements, and required compliance records. Review operating procedures for efficiency and effectiveness; propose minor changes or recommend major improvements. Perform additional duties as requested by the supervisor. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree. Two (2) to Three (3) years of related experience. Ability to work independently and provide program support, exercising judgment on a wide variety of administrative matters. Demonstrated understanding of, stated commitment to, and/or experience working with diverse populations. Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and experience using housing software systems. Experience working in a collegiate setting. Appointment Terms
