Responsibilities

Maintain records for the hospital's preventive maintenance program of equipment and machines.

Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, and contacting vendors for cost comparisons.

Record and transcribe minutes for the Plant Facilities and Safety, Health, and Risk Management committees.

Provide clerical support for the Safety and Security department, Environmental Services department, and relief of Switchboard Operator/Receptionist duties.

Note recommended servicing dates, review warranties, file contracts, and contact vendors for servicing as directed.

Maintain the department Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) handbook and update OSHA files.

Work under the direct supervision of the Director of Plant Facilities.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.

Experience: Two years clerical experience preferred; minimum 45 wpm desirable; computer experience preferred; switchboard experience helpful.

Skills: Excellent writing and verbal communication; proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access; knowledge of MSDS, OSHA, and building maintenance terminology is helpful.

Additional: Requires attention to detail and ability to perform mathematical calculations for estimating costs.
