Pinnacle Treatment Centers, Inc. is hiring a Counselor to join our team in Fresno, CA. The role focuses on supporting patients through recovery using evidence-based treatment methods and a compassionate, holistic approach. Salary range varies by position level. Responsibilities

Provide orientation to new patients regarding program rules, policies, procedures, and patients' rights. Conduct Intakes, Discharge Planning, Initial Assessments, and Initial Treatment Plans within applicable regulations and Pinnacle policies. Involve patients in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention to support their recovery. Administer biopsychosocial assessments at intake and on an ongoing basis. Utilize SNAPS (Strengths, Needs, Abilities, and Preferences) to develop individualized Treatment Plans with short- and long-term goals. Determine the clinical necessity of counseling services based on assessments. Monitor and document changes in patient circumstances and relapse indicators to support relapse prevention. Comply with Medical QA and Clinical Risk Management policies, including risk evaluation and use of screening tools (e.g., BAM-R, C-SSRS, GAD-7, PHQ-9). Collaborate with medical staff and specialists when high-risk conditions are identified; refer to appropriate clinicians and obtain necessary releases of information as needed. Provide professional counseling and referrals to second-tier services, community resources, and 12-step programs; deliver individual and group counseling as clinically indicated. Apply advanced counseling techniques (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing). Schedule and document counseling sessions in the EHR; attend training and case conferences as required. Engage in community relations/outreach and participate in team meetings and ongoing training. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Counselor I : $20/hour to $21/hour Associate degree in a relevant field with required registration/credentials to provide counseling services. Kern County requires a bachelor’s degree or high school diploma/GED with 75% certification education. Preferred

Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher. Counselor II : $21/hour to $24/hour Associate degree or majority of approved counselor certification courses, license, or certification; Kern County requires a bachelor’s degree or 75% of required counselor certification courses. Counselor registration/certification by a recognized certifying organization; proof required before counseling services. 2-5 years of experience OR Master level. Counselor III : $24/hour to $27/hour (Certified) & $27/hour - $30/hour (Licensed) Degrees must include licensed, licensed eligible, or certified status with appropriate clinical skills for complex cases. Certification as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor with a CA-approved agency or current licensure/eligibility with relevant boards; maintain supervision as required. Proof of licensure/certification required immediately upon employment. Experience & Education Preferred: Prior SUD counseling experience; Masters or higher in Psychology or related field; Bachelors in Psychology or related field. Required: Technical/other training in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services or related field; Associates or better in Psychology or related field. Licenses & Certifications (Preferred): SUDCC levels, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, CADC, etc. Location & Schedule
