We are a national employment law firm with over 25 offices and more than 450 attorneys. We are looking for an experienced Employment Litigation Associate with 3-6 years of experience to join our team.
Overview
This is a permanent position offering an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of employment litigation cases. The successful candidate will have a solid background in civil litigation, with a focus on employment law. They will handle case work including discovery, depositions, motions, and mediations, and must be admitted in DC and Maryland. Base pay range
$200,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Manage a own caseload of complex employment litigation matters from inception through trial. Represent clients in all stages of employment litigation, including pre-litigation, discovery, motions, trials, and appeals. Draft and respond to discovery requests; draft and argue motions. Defend and take depositions; manage discovery and prepare cases for trial. Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations. Provide advice and counsel to clients regarding state and federal employment laws. Keep up to date with developments in employment law and advise clients accordingly. Collaborate with other attorneys in the firm to ensure the best representation for clients. Qualifications
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Admission to the DC and Maryland bars. 3-6 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on employment law. Proven experience as a case-handling attorney in federal court. Extensive experience in drafting and responding to discovery, drafting and arguing motions, defending depositions, and managing discovery. Experience in taking depositions, arguing motions, and participating in mediations. Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws. Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage a large caseload and work independently.
