Loomis Chaffee School
Overview
The Loomis Chaffee School seeks an experienced college counselor to cover a maternity leave from January 2026 - June 2026. The ideal candidate will fill a five to six month term that will play a crucial role in advising the Loomis Class of 2027 as they engage in the college search process. The position will be in-person and will range from 50%-75% time.
Responsibilities
Advising and meeting individually with junior students and their parents on all facets of the college search process, working collaboratively as a member of the College Counseling Team, and counseling students on course selection as it impacts college admission.
Qualifications
Competitive applicants will have multiple years of experience as a college counselor within an independent school environment, strong technology skills (proficiency and/or comfort in learning MS Office Suite and SCOIR), a love of working with a wide range of students and other community members, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
