This is our guiding compass to grow something great and make life delicious! This Customer Sales Manager (CSM) position embodies that ambition. You will own and be responsible for selling and executing across various categories accounting for $64 MM in revenue with SpartanNash as a vital member of the Customer Sales Team. The CSM serves as the key stakeholder between Kraft Heinz and our retail partners, leading all selling activities and driving efforts tied to improving our sales, gross margin, and market share. The CSM aims to deliver revenue and share objectives, pursue growth strategies, provide category management expertise, and ensure that coordinated cross-functional sales value is delivered to the customer through implementation of the sales plan and shelving objectives. Due to customer connectivity, this role is located in or around Grand Rapids, MI.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Own end-to-end business plans with our retail customers, SpartanNash.
Effectively partner with the customer, building rapport at all levels to fully understand their business, the marketplace, and drive positive business growth.
Achieve New Item Authorization goals, Distribution goals, and Base Business Objectives: Revenue and Share Growth, Authorizations, Distribution, Optimal Shelving.
Achieve promotional revenue objectives by tactic, price point, Drive Period, and Selling Event while effectively implementing Kraft Heinz pricing strategies for owned categories.
Work cross-functionally with our Retail Execution Manager on key in-store execution for all assigned category objectives.
Maintain files and business documentation to detail business transactions.
Expected Experience & Required Skills
Proven experience in customer management, account management, and/or retail sales management for a CPG company.
Experience owning business processes and category management in a complex sales role with responsibility for at least $60MM of business.
Customer-first mentality for effective customer management and selling to achieve objectives.
Ability to work autonomously within a sales framework to plan, organize, and set/achieve priorities.
Polished interpersonal skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with the ability to negotiate and influence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and proprietary sales systems such as IRI, Spark, etc.
Strong analytical skills; experience using syndicated and/or ambiguous data to develop comprehensive business plans and influence customer to achieve category objectives.
Willing to travel 5-10% as needed.
Work Environment & Schedule This position is field-based and requires frequent travel to customer locations, stores, and manufacturing facilities. The role requires a salaried, exempt schedule to best execute against customer and internal expectations.
Physical Requirements
Willingness to drive and/or travel as needed.
Operate a computer and view screens for ~100% of the work schedule.
Location Grand Rapids, MI area.
Compensation & Benefits
New Hire Base Salary Range: $102,100.00 - $127,600.00
Bonus: Eligible for a performance-based bonus per plan terms and governing documents.
